Is, ea, id
Is, commonly referred to as is,ea,id (in the Nominative masculine,feminine and neuter)is a demonstrative pronoun meaning this or that. Is, ea, id are also used for he, she, it respectively.
A demonstrative pronoun indicates something about which the speaker is talking or referring to. I.e. surroundings, spatial awareness. E.g. that (one over there), this (one here) and so on.
Other demonstrative pronouns in Latin are hic,haec,hoc (this) and ille,illa,illud (that over there) - similar to aquella in spanish.
The meaning he/she/it will change depending on the case. For example, eum (the accusative) in English would be translated as him.
